Don’t miss the highlight spot of Pavlopetri at the Laconian peninsula which is the world’s oldest submerged city, aged about 5,000 years old and discovered in 1967 by Nicholas Flemming . In the bay of Navarino a number of 19th century shipwrecks are lying, from the naval battle of Navarino between the Ottomans and the Allies during the Greek War of Independence.
